About

An independent software practice.

PiStack is a small development team based in Queensland, Australia. It exists to build small, focused tools well, rather than large ones quickly. Every project starts from the same place: a real, specific problem, and the smallest piece of software that solves it properly.

Nothing is added because it might be useful someday. Nothing ships half-finished, and nothing sticks around past the point it's still earning its place.

Where we are

Queensland runs on AEST, UTC+10, with no daylight saving, so the clock here stays put all year. Working across other Australian timezones and international ones is normal and causes no trouble.

Platforms

That approach carries across platforms. Work here spans native iOS and Android apps, Windows and desktop software, and the web, with the choice of platform driven by what a project actually needs rather than habit or convenience.

How things get built

No trackers, no ad networks and no unnecessary third-party dependencies go into anything built here. Software should do what it says and nothing else, and it should still work the same way years from now.

ShiftSync is the clearest example of all of that in one place: a single problem, solved properly, and maintained since. There's a longer write-up on the ShiftSync page.
